Thetrade fairs Fi and Hi Europe have been merged by the organiser Informa Markets. From now on they will be organised on an annual basis and will continue to alternate between Frankfurt and Paris. The pandemic that forced the launch of a purely virtual trade fair last November did not harm the attractiveness of the Food ingredients and Health ingredients trade fairs. The two-week event registered participants, about half of whom had never been to the physical fairs before.
Informa Markets expects a high number of visitors again this year. However, the fair will be held hybrid, i.e. one week in advance online and then physically in Frankfurt from 30 November to 3 December. In terms of space, the “real” fair will probably be about 30% smaller, but this reduction is solely due to the pandemic. In the online part there will again be numerous lectures, e.g. at the four-day Fi-Conference, which will deal with general topics of plant-based, health & well-being, reformulation and technical innovation in ingredients. This will be followed live and online by the so-called “Theatre”, which will highlight market trends, give regional information updates and shed light on sustainability.
Interestingly, dairy processors such as Sachsenmilch, Armor Proteins, Fonterra and FrieslandCampina have signed up for the Health Ingredients section.
