Date: 12.01.2021Source: Arla Foods

Arla Foods plans to become the European market leader in e-commerce for dairy products. The goal is to double sales across Europe to €600m by 2025 via the online platforms of retail customers. Since the start of the Corona pandemic, Arla has already seen a strong increase in e-commerce sales; in many key markets, online sales have doubled in 2020.

For the venture, the company is investing primarily in its online presence, hiring additional e-commerce sales and marketing specialists in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland.

With the new e-commerce strategy, Arla has set itself the ambitious goal of achieving ten per cent of total retail sales in Europe through online retailing in the future. The UK is currently one of Arla’s largest e-commerce markets. There, the company generates 17 per cent of retail sales in its brand business through online channels.
