Hochland close plant in Kaiserslautern

Hochwald is closing its Kaiserslautern site in Germany. The closure is due to take place as early as September. According to the company, the site is no longer profitable. The factory had most recently been serving the Chinese market. However, sales there fluctuated significantly and had recently declined.

The closure is to take place in two stages. Production will cease in September, whilst milk collection will continue until the end of the year with five to ten staff. According to Hochwald, some employees in Kaiserslautern have been offered the opportunity to continue working at other production sites.
