With 86,700 tons, Russian cheese production in the first two months of 2020 was 15% higher compared to the same period last year. This is the highest period production in the Russian dairy history.
In 2019,at total of 524,000 tons of cheese was produced, which was 12% higher than in 2018. Monthly production in January-February 2020 amounted to 43,000 – 44,000 tons, while before the introduction of special economic measures in August 2014, this figure did not exceed 24,000 tons.
