Adding zest to active performance

HealthTech BioActives (HTBA) is inviting visitors to explore new developments to support active performance on their stand at SupplySide West this month. With over 40 years of expertise in nature-led ingredients, HTBA will showcase its latest functional health and taste modulation innovations, as well as inspiring visitors with its new Cardiose® gummy concept at the show’s Tasting Bar on 30 October. The company’s presentation, ‘Boost physical performance with citrus flavonoids,’ led by Dr. Juan I Cacho, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Specialist, promises insight into the latest scientific discoveries about the potential of Cardiose® in active performance too.

As consumers seek to enhance their health and wellness while being mindful of environmental impact, the demand for natural, clean-label and scientifically-backed supplements and functional foods is rapidly increasing. Aligned precisely with these trends, HTBA will highlight two of its flagship nature-based ingredients. This includes Cardiose® – a 100% natural sweet orange polyphenol extract obtained through a proprietary extraction process – which has been shown to support cardiovascular health and active performance, and MecobalActive® – an active, pure and highly effective form of vitamin B12 that enhances cognitive function and supports energy and sleep.

As heart health remains top of the agenda for many consumers, so too does the development of convenient, tasty, science-backed supplements for nutraceutical brands. To inspire innovation in this arena, HTBA’s delicious strawberry dragon fruit-flavoured Cardiose® gummies will be available for sampling at the company’s booth and the expo’s Tasting Bar. These gummy prototypes have been developed to deliver 500mg of Cardiose® in a format that is fast becoming a firm favourite among individuals of all ages. Alternatively, visitors who are keen to learn more about how this ingredient supports physical performance are invited to attend Dr Cacho’s exclusive talk in the supplier presentation theatre (stand #3683) at 12pm on Wednesday 30 October.

Said Tom D’hoore, Chief Commercial Officer, HTBA: “This is a really exciting time for us to be exhibiting at SupplySide West. The holistic health trend, rising consumer scrutiny of claims and the drive for more sustainable manufacturing processes have created a market that we’re ideally positioned to serve. Our understanding of the industry, combined with our pharmaceutical heritage and green manufacturing processes make us as unique – and trusted – as the health and nutrition products we co-create with our customers. We’re looking forward to meeting with new and existing partners in Las Vegas, so that together we can explore opportunities to launch the industry’s next success stories.”

Alongside its capabilities in functional health, HTBA has extensive expertise in taste modulation. The company will showcase dark chocolate enhanced by advanced taste modulation solutions, effectively masking the natural bitterness of the chocolate. Visitors can also experience a functional mocha cold brew coffee, featuring HTBA’s taste modulation technology and Olews olive leaf extract. Brands looking to mask the bitter taste of their finished dosage formulations can discover naturally-derived, sustainably-produced ingredients that dramatically improve sensory properties, without adding sugar to their labels.  For more visit HTBA on stand #4087, SupplySide West or at htba.com
