Yakult invests US$300m to expand its factory in the eastern Chinese city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, making it the largest plant in the group. Construction will start in August and is expected to finish by 2022. Yakult’s sales revenues in the Chinese market have seen continued double-digit growth in recent years. Wuxi and Yakult have developed a co-operative relationship since 2013 and have been exchanging medical protective materials to help against the spread of Covid-19.
