Lactalis will acquire Bel Leerdammer, both companies announced. Bel Leerdammer, with its cheese brand, and Bel Shostka in Ukraine will be acquired in exchange for a block of almost 1.6 million Bel shares (23.16% of total equity) currently held by Lactalis.
The turnover of both Bel companies at the end of 2020 was about €500m, of which €350m was accounted for by Leerdammer. Profits amounted to €25m, according to a statement by Bel.
