Date: 31.03.2021Source: MEGGLE

German MEGGLE Group takes over  Stegmann Emmentaler Käsereien. Stegmann most recently achieved a turnover of around 120 million euros and was part of the largest French dairy cooperative Sodiaal. Around 200 workers are currently employed at the Kempten and Altusried sites.

With the takeover, MEGGLE is strengthening its historically important cheese product segment. MEGGLE was founded in 1887 through the establishment of a cheese dairy in Reitmehring/Wasserburg. MEGGLE has already intensified its efforts in the Yellow Line segment in recent months. In 2020, a grainy fresh cheese was introduced, and this spring the MEGGLE Grilltaler will go on sale. With the acquisition of Stegmann, the cheese product segment is given a higher profile.

The Stegmann cheese dairy most recently achieved a turnover of around 120 million euros and was part of the largest French dairy cooperative, the Sodiaal Group. About 200 people are currently employed at the Kempten and Altusried sites. The takeover is subject to the approval of the cartel authorities.
