FrieslandCampina intends to reshape its top structure, taking an important step to improve business performance. The change follows the appointment of Jan Derck van Karnebeek as CEO per 1 June 2023.
The business will be divided in seven business groups and will be led by an Executive Team.
Said van Karnebeek: “FrieslandCampina is wellpositioned with its rich history, strong reputation, engaged employees, meaningful purpose and in-depth dairy knowledge and expertise. Furthermore, FrieslandCampina has a diversified business, product and customer portfolio, which enables it to spread its risks well and as a result, among other things, offer its member dairy farmers a leading milk price. The company’s profitability is under pressure. Therefore, in the coming period, we will take the necessary steps to improve profitability. The first step is to reshape our top structure and announce the corresponding appointments. I am confident that with this new leadership team in place, we will fulfil FrieslandCampina’s purpose of providing better nutrition for the world, a good living for our farmers, now and for generations to come.”
The intended split-up of the current Food & Beverage business group into five separate business groups, each with their own characteristics – Europe; Retail & Americas; Middle East, Pakistan & Africa; Asia; and Professional – with effect from 1 January 2024, captures the diversified nature of the business portfolio and the different ‘go-to-market’ strategies required. The business group Professional and the business unit Trading will both come under the leadership of one president. The current business groups Ingredients and Specialised Nutrition remain unchanged.
