SIG Combibloc Group achieved net sales of € 1.796 billion in 2020. Compared to the previous year, there was an increase of 1.7%; adjusted for currency effects, net sales were 5.5% higher than in 2019. The EMEA region accounted for € 797.5 million (+ 5.6%). Gross capital expenditure amounted to €199 million in 2020 (2019: €182 million). The increase compared to the previous year is due to investments in production facilities for the new plant in China. For 2021, subject to the completion of the full acquisition of Obeikan, the company expects core revenue growth on a like-for-like basis to be in the lower half of the 4-6% range on a constant currency basis.
Samuel Sigrist, CEO of SIG Combibloc, said: “The year was proof of the robustness of our business model and the resilience of our end markets. We continued to win new business and to expand our global footprint with the construction of a new plant in China, which is now in operation. We also announced the planned acquisition of the remaining 50% of our Middle East & Africa joint venture. This transaction will expand our presence in growth markets and enable us to fully consolidate a business with an attractive financial profile.“
