We are at a pivotal moment where data should be driving food quality and safety at every stage of aseptic production, not just monitoring it. Leveraging data intelligence has become best practice in the industry. Now is the time for manufacturers to fully embrace aseptic intelligence to prevent issues across the manufacturing process and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

For over five decades, Sidel’s innovative packaging solutions have utilised cutting-edge technology to consistently deliver advanced capability for customers. Sidel recently launched Qual-IS™, an intelligent aseptic quality supervisor which merges all activities related to quality control – laboratory, traceability and sampling.  This digital solution is accessed through mobile, desktop, or human-machine interface installed on the production line and across laboratory facilities.

Qual-IS™ integrates six key components including a sampling plan; laboratory management; traceability; hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP); calibration certificates and quality status.

IntelliADJUST™ is another example of how Sidel are using data intelligence to optimise production. This patented smart bottle blowing control system works within a continuous ‘closed loop’ for control and adjustment. IntelliADJUST™ takes high-precision wall thickness measurements at the most representative points of each bottle, using four interferometric sensors based on reflected infrared light.

IntelliADJUST™’s capabilities can be enhanced further by integrating Sidel’s Evo-ON cloud-based software suite that transforms raw equipment data into actionable insights. Evo-ON provides dynamic analytics for both historical and real-time data which can help improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce operating costs.

Today, data should be the driving force behind food quality and safety across all stages of aseptic production, rather than merely serving as a monitoring tool. Embracing data intelligence as best practice is essential for ensuring consistent performance and the highest standards of safety and quality in the beverage and food industries.
