Yili go for microcapsule technology

Date: 17.07.2024Source: Packaging Gateway

British materials technology company Xampla has joined forces with the Yili Innovation Centre Europe for the use of nutrient microcapsule technology. Plant-based encapsulation material is designed to protect ingredients in beverages from production to digestion without altering the flavour or texture of the product. The focus here is particularly on the risks of degradation due to UV radiation, pH value or heat-induced effects.
The partnership between Xampla and Yili, which was developed by the University of Cambridge, is a step towards taking the company’s technology from feasibility study to series production. Yili will launch a completely new product range utilising the microcapsule technology.
