Sidel is exhibiting at Djazagro 2026

Sidel is exhibiting at Djazagro 2026, the Maghreb’s leading trade show for food processing, packaging and manufacturing technologies, held in Algiers from 13 to 16 April. The company is showcasing its complete packaging line portfolio – from advanced PET blowing to aseptic filling, barrier coating and digital solutions – and demonstrating how its technologies address the production challenges facing beverage manufacturers across the region.

“The Maghreb is one of the most compelling beverage markets on the continent right now. Producers here are ambitious, they are investing, and they are asking for technology that can genuinely grow with them. That is precisely what Sidel is built to deliver – not a single product, but a partnership across the full arc of a producer’s development”, said Davide Franzoni, Sales Director for Africa and the Middle East at Sidel.

Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia represent one of the most active beverage manufacturing corridors on the African continent. Consumer demand continues to grow, driven by a young, urbanising population, strong seasonal peaks in a hot climate, and a clear shift in preference towards PET packaging across water, juice, nectar, carbonated soft drink and dairy categories. Producers are simultaneously navigating rising input costs, tightening food safety expectations from modern retail channels, and growing pressure to demonstrate environmental responsibility in their operations.

With a well-established installed base across North Africa, Sidel is engaging directly with manufacturers at different stages of their investment journey – whether a first move into hot-fill PET, an upgrade of an existing blowing line, or the adoption of aseptic technology to unlock new product categories and extended shelf life without preservatives.

Technology on show

At this year’s stand, visitors can experience a live demonstration of the EvoBLOW EHR, Sidel’s heat-resistant PET blowing platform that uses electrical resistance heating in place of traditional oil-heated moulds. Designed for producers of hot-fillable beverages – juices, nectars, isotonics and teas – it offers faster mould temperature response, consistent bottle quality from the first production cycle, and an oil-free process that improves both hygiene and operator safety.

The demonstration sits within a broader conversation about Sidel’s full technology portfolio. The company’s latest innovations span the EvoBLOW Laser – which uses laser-based preform heating to achieve record-breaking lightweighting and rPET compatibility – aseptic filling solutions built around the Predis dry preform sterilisation platform, and ACTIS plasma barrier coating technology, which can extend the shelf life of sensitive beverages in PET by up to five times. Together, these capabilities reflect Sidel’s position as a partner for producers thinking not only about what they are bottling today, but where their product range and market ambitions are heading.
