Supporting food and beverage manufacturers in the move to natural colours

Oterra has welcomed the decision by The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to phase out petroleum-based artificial colours in food and beverages, and has promised to support food and beverage manufacturers converting to natural colours.

Said Martin Sonntag, CEO: “Oterra has been built on the premise that nature got it right first time, and a growing number of environmentally conscious and health-focused US consumers agree with us. Our natural food colours answer the demand for food that’s safe to eat with quality ingredients that can be trusted.

“We make nature easy: The food and beverage industry will need expert help to make the conversion to natural colours given the tight deadlines. Oterra has more than 150 years’ experience in pioneering natural colours and will be ready to help with sourcing of raw materials and the supply of colours and colour solutions that can satisfy both them and their customers.

“Oterra has a strong foothold in the North American market. In December last year, we opened a new facility in the US combining innovation and application labs with a manufacturing and logistics facilities to meet the expected growth of natural colours and colouring foodstuffs in the country.”  For more visit Oterra.com
