Italian hard cheese specialist Zanetti is investing in the expansion of its capacities. The family-run company has budgeted an investment of €70m by 2026. Automation and the construction of a new production facility will enable the company to produce around 1,400 instead of 1,000 wheels of Grana Padano per day in future, according to Valentina Zanetti from the owner family. Storage capacities will also be expanded. The company is also growing through acquisitions. Last year, Zanetti Spa, together with Latteria Soresina, acquired the cheese manufacturer Saviola, which has an annual turnover of around €140m.
Zanetti from Parma claims to be the largest hard cheese exporter in Italy with a recent total turnover of €780m. The family-owned and managed cheese manufacturer sells mainly Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano in around 100 countries, with exports accounting for 72 per cent of its sales.
