After a comprehensive evaluation, Zott selected the VarioFlow plus chain conveyor system from Bosch Rexroth, featuring stainless steel components, for a new conveyor line for mozzarella packaging. Key factors for this decision were product advantages such as its hygienic design, as well as its flexibility, efficiency, and reliability. The experience of system integrator and Rexroth Certified Excellence Partner HELDELE Mechatronik GmbH was also a decisive factor.

With its new chain conveyor system, Zott reliably meets hygiene requirements: The chain and sliding rails comply with the requirements of FDA/CFR 21 (Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration). Ball bearings, returns, and curve wheels are made of stainless steel, sealed on both sides, and filled with NSF-H1 grease.

The reduced cleaning requirements and lower wear help lower operating costs. Users also benefit from a smooth material flow as well as easy system operation and maintenance. In addition, HELDELE served as an experienced partner, designing and manufacturing the complete lateral guides for the VarioFlow chain as custom stainless steel components.

Thanks to universal drive units that allow for flexible motor mounting, the company did not need to make any spatial modifications. Space-saving, patented, low-friction roller curves enable the creation of very long conveyance routes. They also reduce energy consumption. The modularity and flexibility of the system solution allow for future adjustments and expansions without any issues.

The long-standing partnership between Bosch Rexroth and HELDELE paid off in the design and assembly of the system. Thanks to their well-established cooperation, implementation took only a few days and was carried out during a planned production shutdown to impair the ongoing operation as little as possible.
