EDA presents our special issue of the Dairy Focus on the Irish Presidency of the EU, developed in collaboration with the Irish Agriculture Council and Dairy Industry Ireland.
Featuring contributions from Martin Heydon, Ireland’s Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and from the Dairy Industry Ireland, our Focus outlines the Presidency’s vision for the months ahead while highlighting the achievements of Ireland’s dairy sector. It’s a sector renowned for its excellence and innovation, one that plays a leading role in European agriculture and food production.

Ireland’s role as a major European dairy producer places the Irish Presidency in a strong position to lead EU discussions and negotiations on the next Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), including the Single Common Market Organisation, and the framework for Unfair Trading Practices (UTP). The Presidency has already shown great initiative in preparing the livestock strategy that will be published in July 2026.
