Altmark-Käserei Uelzena GmbH (AMK) is implementing an innovative heating and cooling concept at its Bismark, Germany, site to enable CO₂-neutral milk processing. Altmark-Käserei has commissioned MVV Enamic GmbH – the business customer division of the Mannheim-based energy company MVV Energie AG – to plan, construct, finance and operate the sustainable facility. On 2 July 2026, the partners officially broke ground together on the Altmark Käserei site. The new plant will enable Altmark-Käserei to reduce its natural gas consumption by around 90 per cent, whilst CO₂ emissions will be cut by around 6,000 tonnes per year. At the same time, the plant’s design enhances the Altmark Käserei’s economic efficiency. This is because it enables the company to flexibly tailor its heating and cooling production to demand and market prices.
