Royal A-ware will merge with Grupo TGT. Through this partnership, the two family-run businesses will combine their expertise to further strengthen their position in the international cheese market. The shareholders of Royal A-ware and Grupo TGT have reached an agreement on the proposed merger.

Grupo TGT (sales €470m, 15 production sites) is one of the largest cheese producers and distributors in Spain and Portugal, with an extensive distribution network. This will give Royal A-ware (€4.4bn sales, 5,000 employees) an even stronger position in the Southern European dairy market, whilst Grupo TGT, as an independent organisation within Royal A-ware, will be able to build on the Dutch company’s international production capacity, innovative strength and supply chain integration.

Grupo TGT will continue to operate from Spain. The merger is subject to approval by the relevant authorities. Following approval, Teodoro Garcia will join the supervisory board of Royal A-ware, and the merged entity will have three shareholders.
