The European Investment Bank is to provide the French company Lact’Union with 50 million euros over the next three years to modernise the cooperative’s production technology, support the transition of its product mix and drive forward decarbonisation. Lact’Union, based in Picardy, is one of the largest producers of long-life drinking milk in France and has production facilities in Abbeville and Braine. In addition to butter and infant formula (“Babydrink”), the Abbeville site has a blow-moulding line and produces various types of milk in HDPE bottles. The Braine plant currently focuses on bottling milk in various “Brick” formats.
