Coveris, European flexible packaging manufacturer, is strengthening its production capabilities in Central and Eastern Europe through targeted investments of €1.8 million in its two Polish manufacturing plants. The investment in new machinery and technology expand capacity, increase production speed and enhance consumer functionality across its packaging portfolio for food, pet food and personal care sectors.
Increasing capacity using the latest flexographic advancements, Coveris has installed a SOMA Proxima high-speed printing press, enabling mainstream wide web applications to run at speeds of up to 400 metres per minute. Besides increasing capacity by approximately 30 percent annually, the investment delivers faster turnaround times, consistent high-quality print and greater operational efficiency for high-volume packaging formats.
Coveris has also introduced laser scoring technology for flexible packaging formats such as stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags. The solution enables precise, clean opening features that improve consumer convenience. For food and pet food brands, this functionality enhances on-shelf differentiation and user experience.
