Kassow Robots, a Bosch Rexroth AG company, presented at interpack how even complex handling processes in the food industry can be efficiently automated. In collaboration with HELDELE Automation, a compact, camera-based cobot solution has been developed that reliably separates unstable stacks of empty yogurt cups and supplies them to further processing – even with varying formats and in limited spaces.

Compact cobots from Kassow Robots can handle even difficult manual tasks in the smallest of spaces. HELDELE Automation, a Rexroth Certified Excellence Partner, has implemented a complete solution for feeding unstable stacks of empty yogurt cups of various sizes. The 7-axis cobot is equipped with a 3D camera. This captures the position of the cartons and calculates the exact gripping point of the cup stacks. A patented gripper covers all defined sizes. The cobot picks up one cup stack at a time and places it accurately into the magazine of the filling system. The control technology for the robot-assisted solution is based on solutions from the modular automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION from Bosch Rexroth. The cobot meets all requirements for use in food processing. Kassow Robots offers the 7-axis cobots for stationary and mobile use in seven different sizes.
