Arla Foods’ Climate Check programme, with one of the world’s largest externally validated climate data sets from seven European countries, confirms that Arla farmers are among the most climate-efficient dairy farmers in the world. In addition, the results of the data collection, which are now available, show the essential five factors that will drive further reductions in greenhouse gas emissions on farmers’ farms over the next decade. In this way, farmers are making a significant contribution to achieving Arla Foods’ ambitious environmental goals: 30 per cent less CO2e emissions per kilogram of milk by 2030 and net zero CO2e emissions by 2050.

The data confirms that Arla farmers are among the most climate-efficient dairy farmers in the world with 1.15 kg of CO2e per kilo of milk including peat lands.

In total, 7,986 farms from seven European countries, 1,267 of them from Germany, completed the Climate Check last year using Arla’s new standardised system to identify their individual CO2e footprint.
