Müller dairy has plans for the Market Drayton site approved. The authorities’ decision says the approval will allow the continued operation and growth of an “important local employer”. Earlier this year the firm asked Shropshire Council for planning permission to replace seven silos used at the Shrewsbury Road factory. The proposal was for the silos to be 28 metres above the finished floor level – 10 metres higher than their predecessors.

A decision notice detailing the approval said there was no issue with the taller silos, which would have “limited impact” on the area.
