Despite overall growth of 3 per cent in 2025, Lactalis lagged behind in its home market of France (reporting growth of just 0.9 per cent) and thus fell short of the results achieved by the top 100 companies, which grew by 2.8 per cent overall, exceeding the €91 billion mark in aggregate turnover. The market-leading companies now account for a third of the sector’s total turnover, which the French Food Industry Federation estimates at 250 billion euros for 2025.
