Lactalis New Zealand has officially commissioned a purpose-built distribution center in Christchurch. Named “The Yard,” the multi-temperature complex unifies fresh liquid milk, chilled dairy products, frozen lines, and ambient products under one roof.

Engineered to handle a complex mix of finished dairy commodities, the distribution hub integrates specialized cool-room chambers with heavy transport docks, dedicated franchisee access zones, and container staging capacity for up to 12 shipping units simultaneously. This logistical layout significantly accelerates inbound freight turnaround and outbound product dispatch, supporting both local South Island distribution routes and high-volume containerized export movements. By eliminating fragmented third-party warehousing, the facility reduces transit friction and handling overhead.
