Sodiaal‘sBoard of Directors is to pay for 10% of the organic milk volume only the non-GMO milk price for a period of twelve months as of 1 August 2021.
As a result, 90% of the deliveries of the organic milk producers supplying Sodiaal will be paid with the price set at the beginning of the year. That is, for August and September 47c and 50c respectively (all premiums and qualities together). 10% of the raw milk is paid with the price for GMO-free milk. That is 35.7c and 38.7c respectively.
The cooperative justifies its decision with a “difficult economic balance for our organic sector”. Organic milk deliveries have far exceeded the expected range, and the markets for organic consumer products have experienced a slump in growth since last autumn.
