Tetra Pak Factory OS software ecosystem makes its Northern European debut at Heler Foods

Tetra Pak has today announced a new collaboration with leading British cheesemaker, Heler Foods, to create one of Europe’s most advanced cheesemaking plants using next-generation technology platform Tetra Pak® Factory OS. This will mark the first time such technology has been installed in a Northern Europe creamery, with the new facility scheduled to be commissioned by January 2028.

Unveiled at Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai in November 2025, Tetra Pak Factory OS bridges the gap between the aspirations of many food and beverage manufacturers to benefit from the huge advantages that automation can bring and the challenges of practical adoption. In response to this, Tetra Pak Factory OS combines advanced technologies with deep food and beverage know-how to help producers tackle cost pressures and prepare for AI-driven manufacturing.

As a leader in advanced food production systems, Tetra Pak is working with Heler Foods to transform its family-owned Nantwich creamery with state-of-the-art processing equipment for its Cheddar production line. This will increase the creamery’s annual production capacity to 38,000 tonnes.

Built to meet the needs of a modern cheese producer, Tetra Pak will deploy its Factory OS system at Heler Foods to provide continuous monitoring of production data and performance. This real time monitoring will allow processing equipment to autonomously adjust, optimising cheese yield, improving product consistency, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Developed in collaboration with Accenture, Tetra Pak Factory OS is supported by a robust ecosystem including Siemens, Rockwell Automation and Inductive Automation.
