Mengniu Dairy and Ecolean have joined hands to initiate a Sustainability Awareness initiative to the community of Xinjiang, China. We will together take the lead in launching activities to advocate less waste, by introducing The Saving Hero!

On one hand, our ambition is to shine a light on packaging’s ability to significantly reduce food waste from the source in the dairy industry; and at the same time, launch a series of consumer activities such as “Saving Hero” interactive games as well as a special, easy-access collection area for post-consumed Ecolean packages during four weeks’ time. The collected packages will be recycled and will increase consumer awareness of the importance of recycling and also to guide consumers to form new habits promoting less waste.

As a leading company within the Chinese dairy industry, Mengniu Dairy has been adhered to the concept of green development to guard the national health and well-being, and earnestly practice corporate social responsibility. The “no waste” public benefit activity launched by Mengniu Dairy in Xinjiang has a long duration and wide coverage, which perfectly integrates fun activities, creative interaction, parent-child games and promotes a saving spirit, and will certainly attract the attention and participation of many consumers.

The consumer activities will be held at Jingkai Wanda Plaza in Urumqi, Xinjiang, and CR Vanguard Kashi West Road Store from December 5 to December 27, 2020. At the event site, Mengniu customized interactive games involving The Saving Hero will be hosted to attract younger consumers’ engagement.

In addition, there will be an extensive collecting and recycling activity of post-consumed Ecolean packages on the site. During the activity, users can, for one package of Mengniu Ecolean yoghurt, collect and hand in ten packages of empty Mengniu Ecolean packages. Mengniu Dairy encourages consumers to continue to participate in recycling in Xinjiang. The four-week activity will attract more consumers to participate in recycling, enhance the awareness of environmental protection and conservation, improve the utilization rate of resources, and make less waste truly become a conscious behaviour of the community.
