Danone has been overtaken by family-owned Lactalis. Lactalis became France’s biggest food group when it announced sales of €28bn for 2022 at the end of April. Inflation boosted the company’s sales by 28.4% year-on-year. The group’s consolidated net result was €384m, equivalent to 1.36% of sales (-14%).
Danone’s turnover “only” increased by 13.9 % to €27.7bn last year, which is also due to a different product mix.
